Keep up the good work! You offer subjective and objective views which is a good thing. I enjoy reading it every day and miss it when you get a post up for whatever reason. Thanks again!

Thanks for this piece on Julian Lennon. I've always liked his music and have wanted to know more about him - not just because he's John Lennon's son but because he's a wonderful songwriter and musician in his own right. I, of course, loved his Dad's music, but I can't help but wonder if John had lived to be an old man if he would have regretted the time missed with his son while alive? I want to think yes and that he would be very proud of the man Julian has become. OH and he's not bad on the eyes either! : )

Since I was also there with the writer of this blog, I have to add my two cents worth. If you've ever wondered what joy is or looks like, I encourage you to catch Mike Farris live. If he could bottle his internal joy and sell it, he would be the richest man on the planet.

AH...Otis Redding makes me feel good dancing in my kitchen!! Great stuff and thanks for sharing. I've long been a fan of Otis but did not realize he cut this song as well. While I love the Temptations, he certainly did this one justice!

both of these videos are lip-synced, & eric carmen actually wails his ass off during other live 'all by myself' performances. i've seen two of their recent reunion shows & they were blistering hot, & have long since earned & established their rightful place at the very apex of the power pop heap. as to the comment about EC's "whiny" voice (huh?!?!), the dude had a relentless white man's snarl closer to james brown's than any other contemporary - just listen to the bridges & final chorus of the above video of 'tonight' & go back & eat crow, or err... whiny pie

Frankly, I didn't like his whiney voice when he did the "power pop" gig and it was even worse when he did the "sappy pap" gig. I say calm down and just wish the dude a happy birthday and let him tune his rusty guitar.

Lawd! Was that Jesse Jackson with an afro?? Praise be!! Issac's "vest" looks like it was made out of a chain from gum wrappers that me and Jill used to sit and make and string around our bedroom. We chewed hundreds of packs of zebra strip gum so we could have uniform colors. Looks like some of those chains made it to Issac. RIP Shaft Master.
